Two digital services firms combine via BGF

Technology services firm hedgehog lab has secured a £6.3m business growth investment from BGF, and has acquired digital services consultancy Netsells as part of the deal.

Hedgehog is headquartered in Newcastle, UK, and Netsells in based down the road in York. Hedgehog also has operations in the US and Bulgaria, and works with brands including AJ Bell, Aviva, Deliveroo and Tesco Bank.

It provides businesses with mobile app and web development solutions, as does Netsells. The two companies will now come together under the hedgehog lab brand and will be headed up by hedgehog lab’s current CEO Sarat Pediredla, alongside a new executive board.

Pediredla said: “The combination of two firms with established and renowned capabilities will enhance our offering and growth prospects massively, by bringing together some of the best talent in the industry and facilitating our continued expansion into new international markets.”

The deal provides a full exit for hedgehog lab’s previous investor Maven.
