Technology services incubator UBDS Group has acquired Cambridge-based cyber security specialist 3B Data Security broadening its existing infrastructure and cloud portfolio.
Under the terms of the deal, 3B Data Security will retain its autonomy including its brand identity, management team and all 23 employees will stay with the company and join the 150-strong team already under the UBDS Group that includes technology infrastructure solutions under its UBDS Digital brand and AWS specialist Rayo.
Diptesh Patel, CEO of UBDS Group (right), said: “We aim to work with like-minded people who share our vision and ambition. We recognise these attributes in the team at 3B Data Security, and we want to support them with our Group capabilities while enhancing our cyber offering to better serve clients across our wider business.”
3B Data Security provides cyber security services, including digital forensic incident response, security training, information security consulting, and penetration testing. The firm is one of only a handful of UK businesses to hold accreditations such as the National Cyber Security Centre CIR Level 2 Incident Response Provider and PCI Security Standards Council PCI Forensic Investigator & Qualified Security Assessor Company.
Benn Morris, CEO of 3B Data Security (left) added, “We share a similar mindset and we both recognise the growth potential for our businesses while understanding that this partnership is primarily about enabling our teams to grow and develop, all while actively preventing security breaches and protecting our clients.”
UBDS Group recently expanded its Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Manchester to enhance its capabilities which include managed detection and response, threat prevention, and threat intelligence 24/7/365, and can now add 3B Data Security’s expertise into this capacity.
“This service complements the combined UBDS Group and 3B Data Security offerings and allows us to provide comprehensive end-to-end security solutions, ensuring our clients are fully protected against emerging threats,” Patel added.
