US reseller PCM buys another UK firm

Potentially in market for other European firms

Acquisitive US reseller PCM has acquired Scottish Cisco Gold partner Provista. Founded in 2006, Provista sells Cisco, Avaya, Huawei, Checkpoint, VMware and other networking and security brands.

With the deal, PCM has added Provista's headquarters in Glasgow, along with two additional offices in Aberdeen and Birmingham to its expanding UK presence.

The acquisition will allow PCM to deliver networking, security, unified communications and data centre solutions, along with support offerings, said PCM. “Provista is expected to contribute to PCM's opportunity to extend its growth of managed services and multi-lingual global service desks within the European region,” it added.

Frank Khulusi, chairman and CEO of PCM, said: “I am pleased to welcome the team at Provista to the PCM family and look forward to continuing our growth and success in the UK market in the coming years.”

Last year, PCM acquired Liverpool-based cloud service provider The Stack Group, and it was also in the frame to acquire failed reseller Misco from administrators before that proposed deal went sour. It did however take on some Misco staff after the firm was wound up.

Provista had total revenues of around £7.7m for the year ended 31 July 2017. PCM meanwhile says it generated net sales of $2.2bn for the 12 months ended 30 September 2017. The market will now be waiting to see if PCM extends its buying spree to mainland Europe.
