Enterprise data management firm VAST Data has sealed a strategic partnership with Dremio, the “data lakehouse” platform, to enable firms to “get from data to insights faster”.
Regardless of physical location – on-premise or in the public cloud – Dremio customers can now analyse their data anywhere by leveraging VAST’s “massively parallel architecture” for concurrent and “near real-time” data access “at any scale”.
Phil Manez, director of channel sales at VAST, said: "Many enterprise customers are struggling with what to do with their legacy data lakes, which never lived up to what customers hoped they would be.
“The VAST/Dremio partnership gives our partners the full stack solution needed to transform those data lakes for the next-generation of data analytics workloads. This is truly a better together story.”
VAST unifies an organisation’s data for analytics on a common, single-tiered and linearly scalable data platform. Dremio provides an open data lakehouse platform that executes “lightning-fast” SQL queries using a common semantic layer across data sources, and a simple user interface.
“Partnering with VAST ensures Dremio users are equipped with the lakehouse data capacity and scalable high performance necessary to run their business intelligence workloads and data analytics applications,” said Roger Frey, vice president of alliances at Dremio. “As data volumes continue to grow, VAST’s disaggregated architecture enables users to easily scale the performance and capacity that businesses demand.”
On the IT Press Tour in the US this June, VAST Data said it was scaling up its EMEA channel partner numbers in response to its widening global sales footprint. The New York firm has been making new technology alliances and expanding and opening up new sales and support operations in various EMEA countries this year.
These include signing a pan-European distribution deal with Arrow and jointly developing and distributing anti-ransomware solutions with data management heavyweight Commvault.
The vendor says its channel partner numbers are tripling on an annual basis globally, and that in EMEA alone, the number of “transactional” partners in the region stood at around 50.
Jeff Denworth, chief marketing officer at VAST Data, said he expected this figure to triple again over the next year to 150 in EMEA, including system integrators, OEMS, distributors, MSPs and resellers.
