As VMware’s Explore customer and partner event kicked off this week in Las Vegas, the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) issued its final report on the proposed takeover of VMware by Broadcom, giving the deal a big boost.
It confirmed the provisional approval it granted last month, clearing the way for the $69 billion deal to go ahead. The EU granted antitrust approval last month.
IT Europa is here in Las Vegas, and will be bringing you the channel partnership angles from the conference, as the company moves towards a new dawn under Broadcom’s ownership.
Although the US Federal Trade Commission hasn’t officially passed the acquisition yet, Broadcom maintains there currently aren’t any new blocks to it,
Chinese antitrust regulators, so far, have yet to pass it either, but with perceived backing from the US, the EU, and now the UK, Broadcom says it expects closure by 30 October.
