WatchGuard improves cloud product offering with endpoint integration

WatchGuard has integrated endpoint security products into its cloud platform.

WatchGuard Technologies has integrated the endpoint security products it acquired in last year’s Panda Security deal into its cloud platform. The rebranded Panda products, now called WatchGuard Endpoint Security will enable channel partners to deploy endpoint security, network security and MFA services via WatchGuard Cloud.

“WatchGuard’s driving mission is to create the security platform of MSPs’ dreams and less than one year after acquiring Panda Security we’ve taken another significant step forward,” said Andrew Young, senior vice president of product management at WatchGuard.

“MSPs need a platform that offers greater coordination across critical security services. We’re delivering next-generation antivirus, AI-enabled endpoint detection and response, network security and authentication services as a unified security platform that enables MSPs to provide complete protection for customers today. We’re making it simpler and more streamlined than ever to manage,” he added.

WatchGuard Cloud offers MSPs a variety of operational advantages, claims the vendor. MSPs can leverage fixed-term contracts, WatchGuard Points, and flexible monthly and usage-based subscriptions to procure products in a way that suits their business model.

It also offers options for upgrading, extending and delegating licenses, as well as easy set-up configurations that partners can implement across multi-tier, multi-tenant environments.

WatchGuard has been working for the last two years to integrate acquired security tech into its cloud platform. Since 2019 partners have been able to manage Firebox security environments and AuthPoint MFA deployments through WatchGuard Cloud.

Last year, it introduced ThreatSync functionality into the cloud to unify threat intelligence, correlation and scoring across the WatchGuard security stack. With WatchGuard Endpoint Security it has centralised delivery of protection for networks, endpoints and identities.

As part of the integration, individual products previously known as Panda Endpoint Protection and Panda Endpoint Protection Plus now comprise the WatchGuard EPP (Endpoint Protection Platform) product; Panda Adaptive Defense is now WatchGuard EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response); and Panda Adaptive Defense 360 is now WatchGuard EPDR (Endpoint Protection Detection and Response).
