Databricks has acquired data replication specialist Arcion for $100m, inclusive of incentives.
This move aims to enhance Databricks' data replication capabilities across on-premises, cloud databases, and other data platforms.
Using Arcion's change data capture (CDC) mechanism, which supports over 20 enterprise databases, Databricks plans to streamline data imports into its lakehouse platform while ensuring security and governance.
Ali Ghodsi (pictured), Co-Founder and CEO at Databricks, said: “Arcion will be a great asset to Databricks, and we welcome the team as we further develop solutions to help our customers accelerate their data and AI journeys.”
Gary Hagmueller, CEO of Arcion, added: “Databricks has been a great partner and investor in Arcion, and we are joining forces to help companies simplify and accelerate their data and AI business momentum.”
