Kevin Brzezinski, Westcon-Comstor's SVP of Global Operations, has taken on an additional role as the company's Chief Sustainability Officer.
This new role tasks him with driving the firm's effort to reduce its environmental footprint including working with tech vendors and partners to promote sustainability in the IT channel.
With sights set on net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, a goal validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), the company is taking decisive steps.
By 2030, Westcon-Comstor aims to halve its Scope 1 and 2 emissions, cut Scope 3 emissions by 25%, and ensure that 80% of its suppliers adopt science-based emission targets.
In a bid to power its operations with 100% renewable energy by 2030, the company is also making strides in transparency, as illustrated by its latest Responsible Business report detailing its emissions for the 2023 fiscal year.
Brzezinski (pictured) said: “We’ve built up a strong ESG team in recent years and we're doubling down on sustainability and embedding a data-driven approach to minimising our environmental impact.”
CEO David Grant added: "We felt it was important to formally give sustainability a C suite-level role.”
