Palo Alto Networks acquires QRadar SaaS assets from IBM

Cybersecurity company Palo Alto Networks is acquiring IBM's QRadar SaaS assets and intellectual property as part of a new partnership to deliver AI-powered security solutions.

This collaboration aims to enhance security operations, prevent large-scale threats, and speed up incident remediation with an AI-driven approach.

After the acquisition, QRadar SaaS clients will migrate to Palo Alto Networks' Cortex XSIAM platform, while IBM will continue supporting on-premises QRadar customers and receive payments for those who migrate.

Both SaaS and on-premises customers will get ‘no-cost migration services’ if they qualify.

Nikesh Arora, Chairman and CEO, Palo Alto Networks, said: "The security industry is at an inflection point where AI will transform businesses and deliver outcomes not seen before. It's a moment to accelerate growth and innovation.

“Together with IBM, we will capitalise on this trend, combining our security solutions with IBM's watsonx AI platform and services to drive the future of security with complete, AI-powered, secure-by-design offerings."

Additionally, Palo Alto Networks will become IBM's preferred cybersecurity partner and establish a joint security operations centre for managed SOC services.

Palo Alto Networks will also integrate IBM Watsonx large language models into its Cortex XSIAM platform.
