Alcatel-Lucent has named Önder Sönmez as its new Country Senior Officer for Turkey and Azerbaijan. Additionally, he will also become the chairman of the board of the Alcatel-Lucent n Turkey.
Sönmez has over 20 years of experience in the IT sector in sales and operations and previously worked at Microsoft and EMC in Turkey as well as for Digital Equipment Canada and Compaq Canada. Reporting directly to the president of Alcatel-Lucent in the Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Azerbaijan Amr K. El-Leithy, he will be responsible for a strategic business management in said countries along with running day-to-day operations. He will be based in Istanbul.
