Dutch mobile services provider CM is acquiring app developing company Service2Media. This completes the takeover that begun with CM adopting the CERTA push platform last month. The number of employees that will move over to CM is yet to be finalised, but the plan is to let the majority of Service2Media’s employees remain at their current workplace in Enschede.
CM will continue offering Service2Media’s services to its existing customers and mobile apps developed for companies by Service2Media will remain fully functional. The transition will be carried out by OneSixty, a CM affiliate which was acquired in 2013.
The Dutch Courts have formally approved the acquisition which also includes the app developing platform M2Active. The latter will be phased out and remoulded into an entity that can better support CM in developing successful apps. CM CEO Jeroen van Glabbeek: “Our previous acquisition of the CERTA push platform fits into the strategy to develop more means of mobile communication. The transition began already when we introduced hybrid messaging; a combination of SMS and push notifications. The takeover of Service2Media speeds up this process and is in line with a strong track record and CM already cooperates with numerous companies that use the CERTA push platform.”
“Last Friday an opportunity materialised to make a fresh start together with Service2Media and we welcomed this opportunity with open arms. Starting on Monday29th February 2016, we will team up with their staff to make our customers even more successful in their mobile ventures.”
