Cohesity to expands in DACH with new sales chief

Predicts strong secondary data market

Hyperconverged storage market challenger Cohesity has appointed Klaus Seidl as EMEA vice president of sales, a year after the US firm's EMEA entry.

Seidl’s main overall objective is to expand the company’s activity EMEA-wide, but Cohesity said there was a particular focus on expansion into the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).

Seidl has previously held senior roles at Riverbed Technology, NetApp, and, most recently, SimpliVity. Seidl will be based in Munich, and his appointment follows those of Rob Salmon as president and chief operating officer, and ex-VMware president and COO Carl Eschenbach as a board director. “The first year of European revenues was so promising for Cohesity that the decision to expand the EMEA activity was quickly reached,” said Mark Parinello, Cohesity vice president of worldwide sales. “I have spent a lot of time with Klaus Seidl in the past month, and I know his extensive career spanning three decades will be invaluable in driving our EMEA growth and ramping up our DACH activity."

Seidl said: "Cohesity is transforming the industry's approach to secondary data and it’s time to disrupt the secondary storage market in EMEA. I have witnessed a strong adoption of tier one hyperconverged infrastructures here in the last four years.”
