Computacenter has expanded its Swiss operation by acquiring reseller PathWorks GmbH of Neudorf, Luzern.
PathWorks employs ten and in the year ended 31 December 2018, generated revenue of CHF14.7m. Computacenter will cover the cost of the, presumably, relatively modest transaction from its existing cash resources, although it hasn't revealed the cost of the deal.
Massimiliano D'Auria, Computacenter country unit director in Switerzland, said: “We are pleased with the opportunity to integrate PathWorks into Computacenter Switzerland. PathWorks brings a promising pipeline of customers in the public and private sector.
“Combined with the opportunities we have in our existing Computacenter customer base we believe that we have created a solid base for our sourcing business in Switzerland.”
Lieven Bergmans, Computacenter’s managing director for European Development, added: “With the acquisition of PathWorks we align our services and solutions offering in Switzerland better with Computacenter’s portfolio.
“We will be able to source, transform and manage our customers' technology infrastructure and help them in their journey of digital transformation.”
Last month, Computacenter bolstered its European security services business with a tie-in with Austria's RadarServices, a provider of IT risk detection and response solutions. The company said it would better meet its customers' compliance standards for data privacy by leveraging RadarServices' in-house risk detection and assessment technology.
