Slovenian ICT provider Iskratel is expanding into Germany by opening a branch in Munich to provide its fibre-based broadband access offering to customers.
As part of its marketing plan, the company is using this week's Anga Com show to present its strategy for developing rural regions with fibre optic network technologies, such as Fibre-To-The-Home (FTTH).
“We know from experience what network operators have to look out for in the business case for fibre optic networks in rural regions,” Dr. Mitja Golja, broadband business development director at Iskratel said.
“We now want to bring our know-how to Germany in order to promote the expansion of fibre optics here,” he added.
Iskratel’s key account manager, Patrick A. Zuncke, who will oversee operations at the Munich branch, said Iskratel is a very agile business that collaborates with both partners and customers to offer everything from a single source.
“The customers’ requirements are the top priority,” he added.
Iskratel has an extensive background in deploying fibre optic networks in rural or broadband underserved area. It had earlier worked on the Slovenian-Croatian open access Rune project.
It has already proven itself to network operators in Germany, including Magdeburg telecommunications provider MDCC, which belongs to the holding company Tele Columbus Group, the ICT provider said.
“This is just the beginning,” said Zuncke. “I am certain that Iskratel will play a leading role in broadband access on the German broadband market for years to come.”
The expansion comes as Iskratel reported annual sales of over €115m in 2019 and expects this trajectory to grow by 30% due to its cooperation with partners in Western European countries such as Spain, France and Belgium.
