G-Core Labs has joined the HESP Alliance and implemented High Efficiency Stream Protocol (HESP) support into its own content delivery network.
The IT solutions provider said it now allows its customers to cost-effectively broadcast live video content to millions of users anywhere in the world, with delays up to two seconds.
As opposed to its analogues, WebRTC, RTMP, HLS and MPEG-DASH, HESP is a new adaptive video streaming protocol that allows businesses to deliver video content to a wide audience with minimal latency. This is possible due to the high scalability of the technology and its integration with G-Core Labs content delivery network, G-Core Labs said.

We’re sure that the HESP protocol will complement our CDN very well. Our CDN has already demonstrated the highest performance values in Europe, North America, Latin America, and in the CIS countries."
G-Core Labs said the new technology is attractive for businesses that need low-latency streaming and aim to reduce their costs to a minimum.
The new protocol will also be useful in industries where it’s important to broadcast high-quality video like betting businesses, auction organisers and online casinos. Additionally, the new solution allows users to combine IPTV and OTT solutions to create full-featured broadcasts of the highest quality, the company said.
G-Core Labs also says its CDN is represented on five continents and includes more than 120 points of presence in 100 cities worldwide.
