CWSI has completed its second acquisition in a year, as it announced it has raised €21m (£17.4m) in funding to help accelerate its European expansion.
The Dublin-based mobile and cloud security provider has acquired Dutch security specialist Blaud for an undisclosed sum in a move that will see the group's revenues grow to over £20m this year.
Founded in 2010, CWSI’s mobility and security solutions are delivered through partnerships with Telefonica, Telstra and Hutchison Whampoa (Three).
“There is a strong overlap in our solution areas, value propositions and company cultures and both organisations have strong representation in the Criminal Justice and Public Health sectors,” said Ronan Murphy, co-founder and CEO of CWSI. “Bringing the two businesses together creates one of the largest and most experienced mobile security teams in Europe.”
Under the terms of deal, Blaud will become a wholly-owned subsidiary within the CWSI Group, with 20 employees including CEO and co-founder Thierry Lammers joining the group.
“CWSI and Blaud share the same DNA of enabling organisations and their employees to work productively and securely from anywhere on any device,” added Lammers. “I look forward to working with CWSI to continue to find new ways to create value for our customers and solve their security challenges.”
The deal follows the acquisition of UK-based security firm AVR in April last year.
