Databricks is purchasing Okera to merge its AI-driven technologies with its lakehouse offering, Unity Catalog, to boost its data governance features.
The acquisition also lets Databricks provide more APIs for data governance partners to offer solutions to their customers.
“Our customers will benefit from being able to use AI to discover, classify and govern all their data, analytics, and AI assets (including ML models and model features) with attribute-based and intent-based access policies,” the company stated.
Financial terms of the deal have not been publicly disclosed.
