Thales is set to purchase US cybersecurity firm Imperva from Thoma Bravo for $3.6bn, a deal that is expected to close early next year.
This acquisition will enhance Thales' cybersecurity division and increase its revenues by more than €2.4bn.
Thales' CEO, Patrice Caine, said: "With this acquisition, we are seizing a unique opportunity to accelerate our cybersecurity capabilities and are taking an important step towards our ambition to build a global cybersecurity integrated player, providing a comprehensive portfolio of products and services."
The merger will add $500m to Thales' revenue and expand its data and application security portfolio.
Post-acquisition, Thales plans to consolidate all its civil cyber activities within the digital identity & security (DIS) division from January 1, 2024.
