Switzerland-headquartered distributor ALSO is expanding its ALSO Cloud Marketplace (ACMP) with oculavis SHARE, a remote support solution that runs on smart devices and augmented reality technologies.
The company claims the new remote maintenance software delivers cross-location collaboration in real-time for technicians, with more than 200 customers from the mechanical engineering, automotive, energy and pharmaceutical industries currently using the solution for their troubleshooting and other services.
With oclavalis SHARE, technicians and experts can reduce machine downtimes, increase the first-time-fix rate and increase the overall effectiveness of production facilities. The solution consists of three modules; an AR viewer for 3D visualisation of machine parts; a Workflows module that empowers people to master technical challenges independently with step-by- step instructions; and a Remote Support module for live expert sessions.
Jan Bogdanovich, Senior Vice President Consumptional Business, explains: “The white label option enables our partners to build a digital business model based on their own corporate presence. With easy onboarding, the optional offering of their own services and the use of ACMP, this is a quick path to remote solutions. And if desired, our local ALSO sales teams will of course support with the end-customer roll-out.”
The oculavis SHARE solution also provides ISO 27001 certified IT security and at ACMP, it is offered as a cloud-based solution with cost-effective dedicated user licences as well as flexible floating licences for changing users, the company said.
The remote maintenance solution is available together with the RealWear HMT-1 headset, a rugged, head-mounted, wearable tablet computer enabling hand-free collaboration. Optimised by oculavis developers, the smart glass app takes advantage of the latest headset's high-resolution camera, cancels out noise, and has long battery life, ALSO added.
