Atos has appointed Telecom Resource to the newly created role of DX Support Specialist partner for Unify products and services. Telecom Resource aims to help UK partners and customers move away from legacy PBX and telephony systems towards more efficient cloud-based platforms using Atos' Unify unified communications portfolio.
Atos said the appointment supports its ongoing commitment to becoming channel-centric for Unify products globally, with over 90% of Unify revenue in the UK already coming from its 119 channel partners. Robert Wiles, Unify VP of channel sales for UK & Ireland, said: “We’re seeing increasing demand from customers looking to migrate from legacy systems to more cost-effective and efficient cloud-based telephony and collaboration platforms, in a bid to increase organisational productivity and support wider digital transformation projects.
“As this process can often take months, if not years to complete, customers understandably want to work with partners who have skills in both their legacy and future solutions.”
Don Moore at Telecom Resource, said: “I have been lucky enough to work with Unify for over 30 years. This appointment marks a new chapter where we can continue to deliver enhanced value to Unify’s partners”
Wiles added: “Telecom Resource’s appointment gives our legacy customers and partners a route to access software upgrades, licenses and Unify’s DX Technical Design Team. We’re committed to giving partners and customers the maximum amount of flexibility to either remain on their platform or transition in a more effective way to new Unify environments.”
Consulting and services firm Atos completed the acquisition of Unify from Gores Group and Siemens in January 2016. It paid €366m in cash for the business plus took on €48m in debt and a pension deficit of €176m, making the enterprise value of the deal €590m.
