Avalara is set to become a private company after Vista Equity Partners agreed to acquire the tax-management software provider for $8.4bn.
Vista Equity will acquire all outstanding shares of Avalara stock for $93.50 per share in an all-cash transaction including Avalara’s net debt.
Avalara will look to build its GTM strategy, expand its international workforce, streamline its systems architecture, and continue to pursue M&A opportunities.
The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2022. Upon completion, Avalara’s shares will no longer trade on the New York Stock Exchange, and Avalara will become a private company operating under the Avalara name.
