Cancom acquires €27m-turnover services firm

Germany's Cancom has acquired Hanover-based system house Anders & Rodewyk to spread its services footprint further. Anders & Rodewyk employs around 70 employees and currently generates an annual turnover of €27m, with an EBITDA of €2.4m. Its customer base consists primarily of organisations in the health and education sector as well as medium-sized businesses. The main focus of the company is on data centre infrastructure and related integration and consulting services.

The transaction is subject to the approval of the German Federal Cartel Office.

“With this purchase, Cancom is expanding its presence in northern Germany and strengthening the portfolio of Anders & Rodewyk by creating access to Cancom's service offerings. We are continuing our strategic path of strengthening existing markets,” said Cancom.

The founders and shareholders of Anders & Rodewyk - Bernward Anders and Jens Rodewyk - and their employees will become part of Cancom.

"Within the Cancom structure we will quickly be able to leverage synergies with our data centre solutions," said Bernward Anders. "Our customers will benefit from the addition of the Cancom portfolio.”

Founded in 1987, Anders & Rodewyk specialises in server, storage, virtualisation and networking solutions. It is a NetApp Star Partner with certification as a support and service partner and also specialises in Microsoft and Citrix solutions.

Rudolf Hotter, CEO of Cancom, said of the deal: "The customer base of Anders & Rodewyk and its high-quality, high-margin business with data centre-related services are an excellent fit for Cancom.”

Earlier this month, Cancom appointed Peter Russell - a Microsoft and BT veteran - as managing director of its Irish business both sides of the border.
