Checkit hires new CPTO to lead product development team

AIM-listed SaaS start-up Checkit has appointed David Cottingham as its new chief product and technology officer.

Cottingham (pictured) joins Checkit from Citrix, where he recently held the position of director of microapps and integration platform product management after spending 12 years at the company.

He will be responsible for leading the firm’s product development teams to continually improve the digital capabilities of deskless workers by connecting human activity and sensor data in a single platform.

“Checkit is transforming the way deskless work is done,” Cottingham said. “Very few companies are able to capture both sensor and human data and connect those in an analytics engine to enable not only visibility of key metrics, but also provide actionable insights. The outcomes are very important, not least in terms of increasing the engagement of deskless workers, giving them greater autonomy and choice.”

Kit Kyte, CEO of Checkit, added: “David joins at an exciting time, following confirmation of £21 million of additional investment in the business. Demand for our technology is increasing as organisations seek to reduce their dark operations—the frontline activity that has been hidden from view due to a shortage of digital tools. By illuminating dark operations, organisations can reduce cost and risk while better seizing new opportunities.”
