Cisco is enhancing its secure networking capabilities across public clouds by acquiring Isovalent, a startup specialising in cloud native networking and security.
The purchase will enhance Cisco's Security Cloud, an integrated platform for security that is AI-driven and delivered through the cloud.
Jeetu Patel, EVP and GM of Security and Collaboration at Cisco, said: “Together with Isovalent, Cisco will build on the open source power of Cilium to create a truly unique multicloud security and networking capability to help customers simplify and accelerate their digital transformation journeys.”
The Isovalent team will join Cisco's Security Business Group after the acquisition, expected to close in Q3 of fiscal 2024.
