Cisco has remained the top provider in the ‘crowded’ SASE market, according to Dell'Oro Group's newest report, which shows the global market eclipsed $6bn in 2022.
With a 17% share in revenue, Cisco just edged out runner-up Zscaler by one percent.
Mauricio Sanchez, Research Director, Network Security, and SASE & SD-WAN at Dell’Oro Group said: “For the third consecutive year, SASE revenue growth topped 30 percent as the pandemic-fueled need to modernise the network and security architecture for branch offices and hybrid users continued.”
The four major providers (Cisco, Zscaler, Broadcom/Symantec, and VMware) accounted for 40% of the total SASE revenue.
SSE accounted for approximately 60% of SASE revenue, while SD-WAN climbed 30% YoY growth.
Sanchez added: “Single-vendor SASE solutions grew faster as a reflection of greater enterprise preference for one-stop-shop versus multi-vendor best-of-breed.”
