Storage vendor Cohesity has appointed Johannes Kunz as senior director of channel sales for EMEA. The company has also hired Thomas Boele as senior director for systems engineering EMEA and Claudia Zieschang as head of EMEA field marketing.
The US-headquartered firm provides hyperconverged solutions to manage companies' secondary data storage requirements. All three of the above new staff have joined Cohesity from rival storage firm SimpliVity.
Kunz has more than 25 years experience in sales, marketing and management, most of them spent in international positions. As senior director of channel sales for EMEA he will be responsible for indirect sales, the go-to-market strategy and channel development.
He was previously VP of channel sales for EMEA at SimpliVity, and has also held various roles in channel sales, marketing and product marketing at Hitachi Data Systems. He has also served at NetApp, CA and Cheyenne Software.
Boele has over 20 years of experience in technical pre-sales and marketing, and will now focus on the development and expansion of the pre-sales teams and technical customer service in the region. As well as roles at SimpliVity, he has been at Riverbed, NetApp, Cisco and 3Com, amongst others.
Klaus Seidl, VP of sales for EMEA at Cohesity, said: “I am pleased to welcome three experienced colleagues to the team who will help turn the EMEA market for data protection and hyperconverged secondary storage upside down, and support our growth objectives in the whole region.”
Cohesity entered the EMEA market at the end of 2016, and last December hired Seidl from SimpliVity too, to head up its sales efforts, with a particular target of expanding business in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland).
Seidl is based in Munich, and his appointment followed that of Rob Salmon as president and chief operating officer for Cohesity, and ex-VMware president and COO Carl Eschenbach as a board director.
