CompTIA has chosen British technology entrepreneur, business owner and activist Tracy Pound as chairwoman of the board of directors of CompTIA, succeeding Gordon Pelosse, who will remain on the board as past chair.
Pound has an extensive background of working with countless people from around the globe and advancing their business and careers while also championing initiatives to diversify the technology workforce.
As the new chairwoman of the board of directors at CompTIA, she identified three key areas of focus for the board and the association in the next couple of months.
“CompTIA has made great advances in workforce development and in championing apprenticeships as an opening to careers in technology and I look forward to expanding both of these programs,” Pound said.
“Second, the CompTIA ISAO will be a huge help in fighting cybercrime. Finally, CompTIA’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion remains central to all that we do. I’d really like to see a great step change for the better in our industry,” she added.
The non-profit association for the IT industry also confirmed the appointment of two other additional members to its board of directors.
Both Scott Barlow, vice president for global MSP at Sophos, and Quy Nguyen, CEO of Allyance Communications Inc., will also serve as vice chairs of the association’s board during 2021 to 2022.
