Exertis brings in Lenovo and IBM veteran to help vendors expand

Exertis has appointed Angelo Apa to the newly created position of global head of enterprise vendor management. He will report to Neal Johnston, Exertis global operations managing director, and will be responsible for making sure resellers get the best out of the distributor's vendors globally.

Apa's role includes helping new and existing vendors to expand in Exertis territories worldwide. Johnston said: “We are bringing someone of Angelo’s experience to our global operations team as we look to leverage our scale and capabilities across different categories.

“We have been investing in our enterprise business in terms of resource and vendor portfolio in different geographies, and this appointment gives us the opportunity to ensure we maximise our relationships with our partners and provide additional propositions for our customers.”

Apa has been in the IT industry for over 25 years, most recently as technical sales and business development director at Lenovo Data Centre Group. Prior to that he spent over 20 years at IBM in a variety of channel development and senior sales roles in the UK and EMEA.

Apa said: “I am looking forward to the challenge of growing the Exertis enterprise business with our vendors across an expanding geographical footprint. Partners are increasingly looking for distributors that can simplify their supply chain yet increase their customer breadth.

“Exertis is clearly well-positioned to do both and add real value to resellers in the enterprise space with their enhanced portfolio and range of services.”
