Exertis has sealed a distribution partnership with sustainable technology lifecycle solutions provider TES.
The partnership will provide customers of Exertis with the ability to offer aged technology devices a second life, in a safe and environmentally-friendly way.
TES gives technology assets an extended life through its globally owned and operated network of facilities, including a brand-new 102,000 sq ft space in the West Midlands, UK - due to open shortly.
TES says it ensures data security throughout the process, ensuring devices are first made completely free of any historical data. Once data is cleansed, the device can be re-marketed to have a second life.
If recovery and re-marketing is not possible, e-waste recycling plants use equipment and processing techniques to ensure the lowest possible environmental impact.
“Exertis is placing a greater emphasis on sustainability, and the company’s partnership with TES is just one of the ways in which it will boost its corporate responsibility and sustainability in 2021,” said the distributor.
Steve Graham, VP/GM for EMEA at TES, said: “TES has been selected as the approved partner in the UK for Exertis to support the independent reseller programme for all ITAD, recycling and related services. TES is well positioned to support the reseller programme end-to-end.”
TES uses certified erasure software from Blancco and certified engineers to erase media on PCs, laptops, mobile devices, loose drives, servers or storage systems. Its data sanitisation is performed to the new NIST 800-88 R1 standard, which is recognised by governments, OEMs and global 2000 companies.
Angelo Apa, global head of enterprise vendor management at Exertis, said: “We are supporting our resellers in expanding their ability to offer more services to their end users which offer value in both monetary and sustainability terms.”
Exertis earlier this week reported a 15% increase in annual sales. It also recently became the latest distributor to integrate the Zyxel switching and wireless products within its MSP portfolio of products and services.
