ExtraHop appoints Northern EMEA head to push channel

Cloud security vendor ExtraHop has appointed Duncan Butchart as area vice president of Northern EMEA, to help bolster its sales and channel expansion effort.

He has more than 20 years of business development and sales experience and will “expand operations and foster channel and customer relations” within the region, said ExtraHop.

Butchart has held leadership roles across Europe and the Middle East at the likes of Easynet, Blue Coat Systems, Actian, Symantec and Skybox Security.

“Duncan’s track record in cyber security sales and business development puts him in great stead to grow our EMEA operations, pinpointing how we can add value to customers and partners with our market-leading NDR [network detection and response] solution,” said Marc Andrews, GM of EMEA and APJ at ExtraHop.

Butchart added: “The company’s approach is built on years of deep expertise in monitoring enterprise-scale networks using AI and ML, providing critical visibility at a time when cyber attacks are ramping up. I look forward to building on ExtraHop’s EMEA momentum by forging strong relations with partners and customers in the region.”

The firm recently appointed Karl Werner as AVP for Central and Southern Europe.

Last year, Bain Capital Private Equity and Crosspoint Capital Partners completed their $900m acquisition of ExtraHop. In December 2020, ExtraHop chose Exclusive Networks as its distributor across five European countries.
