HP’s $3.3bn acquisition of Poly is expected to bolster the PC and printer manufacturer’s product portfolio, strengthening its appeal to companies looking for hybrid working solutions.
The merger brings Poly’s video conferencing solutions, cameras, headsets, voice and software to HP, helping the firm to drive innovation and scale in two of its key growth areas: peripherals and workforce solutions.
Enrique Lores, President and CEO of HP, said: “This is a historic day for our business as we mark the union of two companies that are innovating at the heart of hybrid work. Together, we will have vast opportunities to innovate for customers and grow our business as we continue building a stronger HP.”
Poly CEO Dave Shull will join HP as President, Workforce Services & Solutions, starting November 1, and will lead the newly formed organisation with the remit to drive growth across HP's commercial services business.
Andy Rhodes will run the combined HP-Poly business as General Manager, Hybrid Work Solutions & Peripherals.
