HPE is enhancing its private 5G network offering with the acquisition of Athonet, integrating the firm’s technology with its CSP and Aruba network products to form a portfolio of private networking solutions.
The integration with Aruba Centra will allow partners to manage Wi-Fi and private 5G networks via the HPE GreenLake platform.
Tom Craig, Global VP and GM of HPE's Communication Technology Group, states the company now has "one of the most complete private 5G and Wi-Fi portfolios for CSPs and enterprise customers" and will offer it as a service via its HPE GreenLake platform.
The deal is estimated to close at the start of HPE's 2023 fiscal year.
