Ian Vickerage to top job at ScanSource Comms

ScanSource revamps management team in Europe

Distributor ScanSource has announced a revamp of its management structure for its POS and Barcode and Communications business units in Europe. The enhancement reflects the continued growth in Europe, it says. The company has appointed Maurice Van Rijn as new President of ScanSource POS and Barcode, Europe, where he will continue to lead the company’s pan-European POS and Barcode business.

Additionally, ScanSource has confirmed the appointment of Ian Vickerage as new President of ScanSource Communications, Europe. In his new role, Ian will be responsible for running the company’s communications operations throughout Europe. Prior to this, he worked as Managing Director of Imago, a European VAD of voice and communications equipment and services, which he founded and was later bought by ScanSource in 2014.

“We are very excited to be able to build on the successful acquisition of Imago, as it enables us to realign our business and better focus our efforts, so that we can best serve our reseller customers and vendor partners. The dedicated leadership, sales, merchandising, and technical support teams in each region underscores our commitment to our partners’ success,” says Mike Ferney, president, Wordwide Communications and Services, ScanSource.

Van Rijn, who will be responsible for POS and Barcode business in Europe, joined the company in 2002 and most recently he served as Managing Director of ScanSource POS and Barcode in Europe. He also serves as Sales Director at ScanSource in the past.

“Maurice has been with ScanSource since we entered Europe in 2002 and has played an important role in helping ScanSource to become, the leading point-of-sale and barcode distributor in the region. He knows the market and our industry and will serve ScanSource well as we continue to grow and look to help our resellers uncover new opportunities,” comments Buck Baker, president, Worldwide Barcode and Security
