Ingram Micro in Alcatel-Lucent Nordic deal

Starting in Sweden, then moving into rest of region

Distributor Ingram Micro is to offer entire Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise product portfolio in Sweden, Denmark and Finland. It says that growing demand for communications equipment and open standards network are reasons for the new Nordic distribution deal

The two companies are joining forces in response to increasing customer demand for network equipment based on open standards and communications technology that can be easily integrated with new or existing systems to enable customizable business solutions, it says. Efforts will be launched first in Sweden and then rolled out to Denmark and Finland.

The deal is a significant step in driving the growth of Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise networking and unified communications (UC) technology in the Nordic region, it says. It will increase the availability of these solutions to the market through Ingram Micro’s network of local resellers and specialist systems integrators.

It targets both resellers and systems integrators, and is part of an ALE strategy to develop new business opportunities for intelligent network design. It will initially focus on the company's Unified Access solution, and the recently launched Intelligent Fabric networking solution. It also includes the entire communications portfolio of UC and telephony equipment for small, medium and large companies.

Anders Wickström, Managing Director, Ingram Micro Sweden: “The evolution of communications technology is creating the chance to build new ecosystems that integrate new solutions, applications and ideas to transform IT departments into business service providers. Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise solutions are perfectly positioned to support this trend. With Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise UC and telephony solutions and Unified Access products, we broaden our portfolio which our partners and their customers can use to build IT solutions in a new way.
