Ingram Micro does ex-Dell Quest deal

Now independent, Quest does cloud admin

Ingram Micro has signed a META (Middle East, Turkey and Africa) region distribution deal with cloud data protection specialist and former Dell company Quest.

Quest was launched as a stand-alone company last year after venture capital firms acquired the Dell Software business, as Dell raised cash to pay for its acquisition of EMC. Ingram Micro will now distribute Quest's complete portfolio of backup, recovery and endpoint systems management solutions to its channel partners.

Quest helps users reduce “tedious” administration tasks so they can focus their resources on driving business growth through greater innovation, the company says. Addressing critical areas like Microsoft Azure cloud platform management, SaaS, security, workforce mobility and data-driven insights, Quest solutions are designed to be scalable, affordable and simple-to-use, the vendor said.

"Our new relationship with Quest will provide Ingram Micro with critical software components and tools in systems management, security and business intelligence," said Ali Baghdadi, senior vice president and chief executive, Ingram Micro META. "I am confident this highly automated and advanced technology will deliver immediate impact to our reseller partners and their customers."
