Midwich is buying the NMK AV distribution group in the Middle East for £14.2m to flesh out its international reach in the pro AV market further, after its US entry earlier this year through acquisition.
Midwich now has a direct presence in the UK, Ireland, Continental Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific, along with the Middle East. The latest deal will see it have a majority stake in NMK Electronics Enterprise, NMK Middle East FZE and Edge Electronics Trading.
Based in the UAE and Qatar, the £20m-turnover NMK Group supplies specialist AV products to customers in the UAE and the wider Gulf region, along with Edge Electronics, based in Doha, supporting customers in Qatar.
Shure and Bose are among its established brands and it recently added the Epson video portfolio.
Stephen Fenby (pictured), Midwich Group managing director, said: "We now have a presence in all major global territories. This means the Midwich Group has a truly global footprint and ensures we are able to support our customers across all key geographies.
“We are looking forward to working with the NMK Group team to support their growth ambitions and to further enhance our group proposition.”
