Over 60% IT leaders to invest in AI despite learning curve, BT finds

Six in ten (61%) IT decision-makers plan to invest in AI next year, despite over a quarter not fully understanding the technology, new BT Wholesale research reveals.

The report stresses that simplicity and trust are key for channel partners to leverage emerging technologies.

Cybersecurity is a top priority for 42% of resellers, compared to 27% of IT decision-makers and 25% of employees. This is crucial as 13% of IT decision-makers have been victims of scams.

With hybrid work here to stay, 75% of all groups support remote work at least once a week.

Businesses need fewer apps (75%) and simpler collaboration tools (72%), yet only 49% of IT decision-makers have a platform in place, with 35% planning to invest.

Additionally, 65% of employees want faster connectivity and 70% want more reliable connections, but only 31% of IT decision-makers and 16% of employees prioritise the shift to all-IP.

Gavin Jones, Channel Partners Director at BT Wholesale said: “The channel must pivot from tech talk to customer-focused conversation, fostering strong relationships to support customers as they navigate an ever-changing tech landscape.”
