Ricoh Europe buys another two services firms

Ricoh Europe has bought two companies in Germany and Poland to boost its digital services offerings. It has bought Dusseldorf, Germany company DataVision to expand its AV, collaboration and workplace technology and services offering, and has also acquired Warsaw, Poland IT services firm SimplicITy.

Previous Ricoh acquisitions in IT services include Ridgian, Techno Trends, NPO Sistemi, LAKE Solutions, IPM, TotalStor, Mauden and Orbid.

DataVision has over 100 employees located across ten sales and service offices in Germany. It has over 1,300 customers including 15 of the DAX 30 companies in Germany, as well as a number of large government ministries. DataVision is Microsoft's preferred partner for Teams Rooms Premium in Germany. “The acquisition will enable Ricoh clients across Europe to gain access to DataVision’s experience and expertise in UC, AV and workplace management solutions,” said Ricoh Europe. DataVision will continue to operate under its name.

Edward Hamilton, vice president for communication services at Ricoh Europe, said: “This acquisition provides a strong platform for further growth across Europe and forms a key pillar in our transformation to become a digital services company.”

Fellow purchase SimplicITy focuses on data centre transformation solutions, hybrid cloud, networking and cyber-security, and is said to have been doubling its year-on-year growth.

Again, it will continue to operate under its existing name, and will develop commercial synergies with Ricoh Poland, as well as Ricoh Europe’s Service Operations Centre and wider IT services team to generate cross selling. Alberto Mariani, senior vice president for office services at Ricoh Europe, said: “The acquisition fits perfectly with our strategy to expand coverage and to acquire further competencies around hybrid cloud and high-end IT services.”
