TD Synnex company Tech Data has extended its power protection services as part of its push to provide a broad framework of support services to partners.
The enhanced service offering includes installation and maintenance services for power protection solutions.
The extension comes in response to a growing need among partners, said Mark Glasspool (pictured), services director at Tech Data, UK.
“We’ve been receiving more requests for support and maintenance cover for power supplies,” he said. “We have always had the capability to install and service UPS devices, and we’ve now extended it significantly and with these added options we can cover virtually any scenario.”
The service covers all makes and models of UPS and Tech Data, providing support for the installation of backup generators, cooling systems and fire suppression equipment, as well as battery replacements.
Maintenance options include fast response times to emergency call-outs, preventative maintenance visits, whether in or out of normal working hours, and 24/7 support and remote monitoring.
“Our existing services are probably our best-kept secret,” Glasspool continued. ‘We have always offered config services, for example, but we’ve been largely reactive. We’ve updated and simplified those services, invested in resources and streamlined processes, so we can work more closely with partners on opportunities. We have the capacity to grow that business significantly and that’s going to be a fantastic opportunity for our partners, and we will also be bringing forward some new offerings.”
Services already on offer include pre-delivery configuration, virtual warehousing, bill-and-hold (supply chain management), third-party logistics (3PL) and managed print.
Further developments this year will see Tech Data’s portfolio extended to include additional installation and maintenance services, as well as retail merchandising.
