Tech Data has formed a partnership with edgescan to offer partners consumption-based vulnerability scanning and penetration testing that can be sold to end customers as a service.
Customers are able to buy the services as they use them, making it simple for partners to offer and sell, said the distributor.
Tech Data says it has already identified several potential opportunities through key managed security service providers (MSSPs) and expects to see demand "increase swiftly".
“With edgescan’s solutions and services, partners can offer comprehensive vulnerability management that will identify any possible attack surfaces that cyber criminals could exploit - that has tremendous value for customers,” said Alison Nixon (pictured), director for security at Tech Data Advanced Solutions for the UK & Ireland.
Tech Data’s security practice team and edgescan will work together to provide the knowledge and support partners need to deliver the solutions to enterprise and mid-market customers.
In May, Tech Data added Secureworks' cloud-native Taegis security portfolio to its offering for resellers and MSPs across Europe. Taegis unifies detection and response across endpoints, networks and cloud environments.
