Telenor sells cloud-native network firm WG2 to Cisco

Cisco is set to purchase Working Group Two (WG2) from Telenor Group at a price of $150m.

Originally an internal project within Telenor, WG2 became its own entity in 2017 when Telenor and Cisco collaborated to establish the firm. 

With Telenor owning a 44.6% stake, WG2 provides mobile service providers with a cloud-native core network platform.

Dan Ouchterlony, EVP and Head of Telenor Amp said: “This transaction represents another milestone on our strategy of realising value in the Telenor Amp portfolio.”
