Pan-European unified communications services player Gamma Telecom has sold off its fibre network in Manchester, England to Western European bandwidth infrastructure services firm euNetworks.
euNetworks has has acquired 100% of the shares of The Loop Manchester, a duct- and sub-duct-based fibre network, to improve the links of its European network, including those from Dublin, Ireland through to London and the Suffolk coast and onto continental Europe.
Gamma is an AIM-listed unified communications as-a-service (UCaaS) provider in the UK, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands, employing1,450, and sells its services through a network of channel partners.
The Loop launched in 2012 and has a duct network stretching more than 87km across the key commercial areas of Manchester, Salford and Trafford, and which goes through 20 data centres and two internet exchanges.
The Loop’s customers include major data centre services operators, media companies and other enterprises and the public sector. euNetworks' long-haul network spans 15 countries and connects through 440 data centres.

The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
