Vuzix, a supplier of smart glasses and augmented reality technology products, has signed an international distribution agreement with Purview Services in the UK.
Vuzix says it has already shipped a “large volume purchase order” from Edinburgh, Scotland-headquartered Purview, who will distribute Vuzix products to customers across EMEA and India.
Purview is targeting the healthcare, utilities, manufacturing, logistics and defence verticals, and intends to offer its customers voice-driven AI solutions using Vuzix AR smart glasses to solve complex business problems.
These can vary from remote surveillance of solar and wind farms by field workers, and accelerated learning of industrial workforces through AR bots, to remote healthcare and ICU support for specialists. Defence forces will be equipped with AR vision headgear.
"Purview is a global provider of IT business solutions to mid-market and Fortune 500 companies," said Paul Travers, president and CEO of Vuzix. "Our two firms target many of the same market verticals, and this partnership will facilitate increased market penetration for customers ready to embrace AR-based solutions, to increase their productivity and improve their carbon footprint, among other things."
"We are partnering with Vuzix to provide their wearable solutions to our customers and partners across the EMEA and India regions," added Reddy Punna, founder and CEO of Purview Services.
