Cloud storage firm Wasabi Technologies has announced the opening of a new storage region in Paris, and is planning more regions as it improves its services to its growing number of channel partners.
The Paris move will provide data proximity and lower latency to customers and partners across France.
The new facility is based in the Equinix data centre campus in Paris, and benefits from high-speed network access to enhance the availability of services.
Wasabi opened an Amsterdam data centre facility in 2019, and more recently in London. In the next 12 months, it plans others, including in Germany. It is also expanding its partner network in EMEA, which already includes distributor Exclusive Networks and hundreds of resellers and managed service providers.
“As digital transformation accelerates the use of cloud storage, organisations increasingly want to store their data in the country in which they operate,” said Richard Czech, VP of EMEA sales at Wasabi Technologies.
“Our expansion into Paris helps us to effectively meet the demand for cloud storage in the growing French market while alleviating data sovereignty concerns. We will continue our hyper-growth in EMEA, focused solely on helping our customers get the most out of their data by providing a cost-effective, high-performance storage solution close to home,” said Czech.
Wasabi has secured nearly $275m in funding to date and is a privately-held US firm headquartered in Boston.
