Westcon-Comstor seals pan-European data protection deal

Westcon-Comstor has signed a worldwide distribution agreement with Titus, the data protection vendor. The agreement further strengthens Westcon-Comstor’s Next Generation Solutions (NGS) offering, adding a major player in data identification and classification. It is a busy time for the distributors which earlier this month signed a worldwide distribution agreement with CyberX, the IoT security company. And last month, it expanded its Infoblox cloud-managed network services partnership into France.

With the ease at which large amounts of data can be shared via email, digital media and cloud apps, organisations are facing a growing risk of sensitive data breaches. With Titus, organisations can “make intelligent, deliberate decisions” on how information is handled as part of an “effective information governance strategy”, the vendor said.

Daniel Hurel (pictured), vice president of EMEA for Cyber Security and Next Gen Solutions at Westcon, said: “This agreement will give us a good opportunity to help our partners strengthen their cyber security offerings. It will enable them to offer the help and support required to remain best placed to be one step ahead of cyber security trends.”

He said: “With Titus, organisations can navigate the complex reality of keeping their most critical data identified and secured in the face of the ever-increasing amount of data being shared digitally and a surge in global data privacy legislation. Any DLP (data loss prevention) project should start with data identification and classification.”

Sebastien Roques, EMEA VP of sales at Titus, said: “Titus shares Westcon’s focus on enhancing the success of its business partners to deliver solutions that help customers identify and secure their sensitive data while meeting regulatory compliance.

“We are looking forward to the opportunity to provide organisations throughout the region with the ability to build a strong data security strategy by adding context and identifying sensitive data with full traceability and auditing.”
