Netcom Training, in collaboration with Intel, is launching an AI training initiative in the West Midlands, made possible by an investment of over £500K from the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA).
The initiative, which is part of Intel’s Digital Readiness programmes, is aimed at closing the digital skills gap.
The "AI for Current Workforce" programme is set to enrol 360 learners in three cohorts, targeting both the employed and unemployed to enhance employability and promote upskilling in AI technologies.
Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands and WMCA Chair, said: “Artificial Intelligence will play an increasingly important role in the successful economies of the future so it’s vital that local businesses are able to future proof themselves and adapt to this rapidly changing marketplace.
“That will require staff who are skilled in the use of AI technology which is why this training course in partnership with Netcom Training and Intel is so critical.
The course offers 64-hour, self-paced learning experience, covering AI project management, professional development, and venture-building skills.
Instruction will be provided through virtual interactive sessions led by AI experts from Netcom, trained by Intel. Upon completion, learners will be awarded the Intel Digital Readiness Certificate, marking their proficiency in AI.
