Annual distributor event shows big brand success in channel
At its annual European Summit, the Global Technology Distribution Council has recognised its fastest growing business lines through its Rising Star Awards. HP Inc beat Apple and Dell in the largest category which is based on actual sales through distribution in the previous year, when both HP and Dell went through major changes, not least in the names of their businesses, HP splitting into HP Inc and HPE.
“The Rising Star winners for 2017 are innovative, forward-thinking and fast growing, encompassing a wide array of product categories and market segments,” said Tim Curran, GTDC CEO. “These companies are among many driving new overall industry growth and demonstrate the power of distribution partnerships in this era of disruption.”
Gold, Silver and Bronze Rising Star Award winners were selected in five revenue categories based on sales growth over the past year, as tracked by the CONTEXT SalesWatch Distribution Panel.

To be eligible for a Rising Star award, vendors must have sold corresponding products through GTDC members for at least two years. Selections for Gold, Silver and Bronze winners in each revenue category are based on CONTEXT SalesWatch data from April 2016 – March 2017.
