Meets plan of being in the top rank of POS and Auto ID distributors
EET Europarts has completed its fifth acquisition this year, and its third in less than a month. This time the Denmark-headquartered distributor has acquired Kent, UK point-of-sale firm DED. Ded was founded in 1983 and is a specialist in PoS hardware, auto ID systems, plastic card printers and other specialist printers. The company supplies a broad range of integrators and resellers.
At the end of June, EET Europarts acquired French POS distributor Heimdal Distribution, and at the beginning of this month, it acquired Irish audio visual distributor Fusion Technologies, its first Irish firm.
"With the acquisition of DED we are now entering into the league of the leading pan-European distributors within the POS & Auto ID area,” said EET Group CEO John Thomas. "Our ambition to become one of the leading POS & Auto ID distributors before 2020 seems within reach."
With the latest acquisition EET Europarts will take on a team of 22 employees, who will be integrated into the existing EET Europarts operation, headed by managing director Simon Smith.
"DED has an excellent reputation in the POS & Auto-ID Card business with important main vendors and brands like i.a. Star Micronics, Evolis and Spacepole," said Smith. “The acquisition of DED will strengthen the basic offer for our existing customers, as well as for our new DED customers, being able to benefit from the advantages of EET Europarts' e-trade platform, our state-of-the-art logistics set-up, and all of our interesting business areas providing new opportunities."
