Growing SD-Wan use in Europe is forecast
SD-WAN provider Aryaka is aiming to extend its EMEA channel reach after signing a deal with Cambridge-headquartered infrastructure services firm Intergence, which has offices both in the UK and mainland Europe.
Software-defined WANs will play a key role in network evolution as organisations in EMEA try to cope with their cloud and digital transformation efforts, says analyst IDC, and will be worth $2.1bn by 2021.
SD-WANs build on hybrid network architectures that have been rising in popularity for years, but add centralised software-based intelligence that monitors, analyses and controls the network, and allow end users to mix and match different forms of connectivity - like MPLS (multi-protocol label switching), internet, Ethernet and wireless services.
Intergence uses technologies such as its Stratiam solution to provide CIOs with insights about IT performance and their customers' digital experience. The partnership will enable Intergence to offer direct access to cloud and SaaS services. It will also “enable enterprises to reduce network maintenance and management hassles, increase agility and save on costs compared to legacy network architectures”, said Intergence.
US-headquartered Aryaka said the deal represents further expansion of the company’s market footprint in both the UK and EMEA regions.
Dave Poulton, Intergence chief technology officer, said: “When it came to improving WAN performance for our global clients we wanted to work with an SD-WAN vendor that could really deliver fast and consistent performance for business-critical applications.”
He added: “With its own global private network, guaranteed network uptime, and built-in WAN optimisation and application acceleration, Aryaka is a game-changer when it comes to global SD-WAN performance. Aryaka effectively delivers the kind of connectivity that today’s cloud services and SaaS applications require.”
Claudio Perugini, senior vice president of global channels at Aryaka, said: “Businesses in the UK and EMEA that are expanding internationally and migrating applications to the cloud need reliable SLA-based network connectivity and better application performance. For Intergence's global enterprise customers, Aryaka’s SD-WAN solution delivers the reliability and security of a cloud-native private network, and due to Aryaka’s as-a-service model, companies can acquire SD-WANs in the same way they buy cloud services today, using a consumption model.”
