Performanta brings in ex-BP CISO to aid growth

Cyber security services firm Performanta has appointed Simon Hodgkinson (pictured), the former BP chief information security officer, as its strategic advisor to aid business growth.

He joined BP in 2002 and held several senior IT leadership roles. Prior to serving as CISO, he was the VP of infrastructure and integration services.

Guy Golan, Performanta CEO, said: “Bringing someone of Simon’s quality and experience into the Performanta team demonstrates how we are continuing to build an organisation based on high quality individuals.

“Simon will help define our sector-based approach, advise clients and support our service development [throughout North America and Europe].”

“Performanta’s approach to cyber security intrigued me from the very beginning,” Hodgkinson said. “They focus on cyber safety, with a healthy balance of helping client’s lower cyber risk, whilst developing operational resilience.

“Sadly, it is inevitable that organisations will be breached, so limiting the impact and having robust, tested response plans is critical.”
